Speaking at the national convention organised by the Anti-Endosulfan Agitation Committee in Kasargod on Sunday, she said pressure should be exerted on Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Minister for Environment Jairam Ramesh to ban the pesticide.
“Pawar is taking a stand against the victims of Endosulfan. He should at least allot the money he gained from the tax holiday for the ICC to the victims of Endosulfan,'' she said.
Ms Shiva said India should join the international community to form a consensus in banning the pesticide. India should demand a ban on Endosulfan at the Stockholm International Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants. Read the full report here.
