"Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, Montek Singh Ahluwalia will be the chief guest while Union Minister of State for Environment and Forests Jairam Ramesh will be the guest of honour.
Officials from the Ministry will also be present," Director, IIFM, R B Lal told reporters here today.
Mr Lal said that total 70 graduates will be awarded Post Graduate Diplomas in Forestry Management (PGDFM), which was launched in 1988.
So far, 21 batches of PGDFM passed out from the institute and all of them were awarded diplomas in seven convocations held previously by the institute, he informed.
Talking about the placements in the IIFM, Mr Lal said over five per cent of the students in a batch of 69 have received Pre-Placement calls from their summer internship organisations. The batch of 2011 saw an average salary of Rs 7.27 lakh per annum. ''The average salary is noteworthy as the batch size is increased by 25 per cent as compared to the previous batch,'' he said.
