The team led by Special Branch Assistant Commissioner M N Ramesh arrested one Ajeesh of Cheriath House, Fort Kochi, who had allegedly brought the piece to the city to find a prospective buyer. The shadow police team made the arrest after plotting a trap to arrest the person.
The accused was nabbed by a police team led by Special Branch Assistant Commissioner M N Ramesh as per the direction of City Police Commissioner M R Ajith Kumar.
The arrested was identified as Ajeesh of Cheriath House, Fort Kochi. Ramesh said Ajeesh was nabbed after the shadow police personnel approached him impersonating as prospective buyers. "It's really an antique piece. We have to submit it to the archeological department for determining its age," Ramesh said, adding that an evaluation would be done to fix the real value of the piece.
