Cause For Concern Corporates Turn Crusaders On Green Canvas

From Nokia to Aircel and Tata Chemicals to Turtle, wildlife seems to have found new saviours in corporate corridors. While Nokia has taken up the conservation of Nilgiri Tahr, Tata Chemicals is lending its voice for saving whale sharks and Gir lions. Sea turtle conservation too sees new light in HSBC and Turtle Ltd. 

 

Not only the biggies, smaller firms too are not far away. Bengal Tiger Line, a Chennaibased logistics firm, is becoming a new champion in tiger conservation. 

 

 “Corporate involvement is a very positive thing, but as long as their concern is genuine. Support from all walks of life is welcome" says Belinda Wright, executive director of Wildlife Protection Society of India (WPSI). Read the full report here.
