In tandem with the walk along the Ganga, the Foundation is conducting shorter walks in cities around India. The objective of these walks is for urban citizens to engage and connect with water and explore their relationship with the water bodies in their cities.
Part 1 of these walks is being held in Mumbai on October 15, 2016, in association with Sanctuary Asia at Powai Lake and Mithi River in Bandra Kurla Complex. This is an attempt to understand how the city's water is stored, supplied, consumed and disposed.
Participants will be accompanied by Dr. Parvish Pandya, who teaches Zoology at Bhavan's College, Mumbai, and is Sanctuary Asia's Head of Natural History, Photography and Science. For over three decades, his greatest pleasure has been to share his love and knowledge of nature and spread conservation awareness to citizen groups, students and the public at large.
