Climate Change Induces Species Loss… But Why?

It is well known that some species cannot cope with the direct changes in temperature, but other indirect changes, such as scarcity of food, widespread diseases and disturbing natural encounters between species, have not been given priority. Wiens calls for greater research in this area, as such causes may lead to species extinction before warmer conditions even become a danger.
