WASHINGTON (AP) â President Barack Obama takes a swipe at swag today as part of an effort to cut waste. He'll sign an executive order banning the coffee mugs, pens, T-shirts and other public relations articles that federal government agencies purchase with taxpayer money. The order also directs agencies to reduce travel spending, cut vehicle fleets and reduce cellphones and laptops issued to employees.
ATLANTA (AP) â There's a bond hearing in Georgia today for four suspected members of a militia who are charged with plotting attacks with toxins and explosives. Prosecutors charged two of the men with conspiring to obtain an explosive and possessing an unregistered silencer. Two others are charged with conspiring and attempting to make ricin, a biological toxin that can be lethal in small doses. Read the full report here.
