Coimbatore Is Brighter

Under the scheme, which was started in 2011, Rs. 1.8 lakhs was allotted per beneficiary, Rs. 30,000 of which was spent to install the solar systems provided by the Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA). Additional Collector and Project Director of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), N.Venkatesh, told The Hindu that the beneficiaries were selected by the Gram Sabhas and approved by the district administration. The DRDA hopes to complete the project by March 2013.
