Defiant Adarsh Soc To Question MoEF Notice

Insiders indicated that the society has decided to challenge the legality of the showcause notice issued by the Union ministry of environment and forests ( MoEF).

The Jairam Ramesh-led ministry had on November 12 served Adarsh a notice, asking why the society, which it claimed had constructed the 31-storey building on the Colaba plot in violation of environment and coastal regulation zone (CRZ) norms, should not be demolished. After asking the promoters to furnish a reply within 15 days, the ministry, following representations from the society, agreed to extend the deadline to January 4. Read the full report here.
