Chilling details of this monster spike are being reported by the US Department of Energy. The amount of global warming gases in the atmosphere, increased by a massive six per cent between 2009 and 2010. The total amount of global warming gases has now risen from 8.6 billion metric tons to 9.1 billion metric tons. Significant spikes in 2009 were also seen in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Poland and Kazakhstan.
The largest carbon-di-oxide (CO2) jumps were seen in China, the US and India, which have been named the world's top three polluters. Speaking of India, if you are a Delhi resident you may have noticed a thick haze hanging over the city over the last few days.
So why does this phenomenon of haze occur every year at the onset of winter?
