Environmental Non-Compliance Delays Orissa Projects: Jayanti

The delay was due to non-compliance of the procedures of the Environmental Impact Assessment Notification 2006 and Circulars of the Ministry, inadequate information on critical environmental parameters, and deficiencies in the Environmental Management Plans by the project proponents, said Natarajan.
Some of the projects in the industry sectors are Sponge Iron Plant, Integrated steel plant, Expansion of integrated steel plant, and Integrated Steel Complex.
A few projects in the non-coal mining sectors include Chhuinpalli Quartzite Mining project, Nuagaon Iron Ore Beneficiation Plant, Jalahuri Iron and Manganese Ore Mining Priject, Expansion of Khondbond Iron and Manganese Ore Mine. Read the full report here.
