The event was attended by CSR representatives of various corporate entities, representatives of civil society organizations, government officials, representatives of UN Agencies in Pakistan and the media.
The broader objective of the event was to make participants aware of the risks posed due to Climate change and highlight the importance of One UN Joint Programme on Environment and different initiatives that have helped evolve partnerships with civil society organizations and federal and provincial governments and now the One UN Programmes initiative to develop partnership of UN agencies with the corporate sector.
The Executive Director of PCP, Dr. Anjum Riyaz ul Haque , welcomed the participants and explained the broader objectives of the event. Ms. Rina Saeed, a prominent journalist on climate change reporting gave a presentation on ‘Climate Change Perspective for CSR'. She explained how in recent years, changing weather patterns have brought droughts, floods and more sufferings for the people of Pakistan. Read the full report here.
