The Power Secretary P Uma Shankar told CNBC-TV18's Mehak Kasbekar that efforts were on to exclude dense forest cover and that there is no talk of scaling down the planned 4,000 mw project.

Power minister Sushil Kumar Shinde who met Jairam Ramesh today too echoed the power secretary's views. He told reporters that he remained hopeful that the Orissa UMPP would get the environment min nod. Read the full report here.
