“Adarsh building has often been termed as a ‘monument of corruption' by various commentators," the court noted, “It'd be tragic if such a monument finds no association with the national capital, where all the policies and laws are made. We recommend that a part of the Adarsh building, which is in excess of the floors that might have been allowed had the requisite permission been sought from the appropriate authority, is relocated to Delhi."
Court didn't specify how would this “relocation" be executed but legal experts interpret that the “unauthorised and illegal" portion of the current Adarsh housing society building could be moved brick-to-brick to some designated place chosen by the government in New Delhi.
“It's a demolition without demolition; the perfect verdict," one of the allottees in the Adarsh building, who is not a relative of Ashok Chavan, welcomed the court's judgment, and hoped that even Jairam Ramesh would be happy with it. Read the full report here.
