The team will place a charter of demands before the centre, besides holding discussions with Union ministers on the issue. The visit was originally scheduled for last month, but was cancelled, thanks to the Anna Hazare-led anti-corruption campaign in the capital.

Though it was earlier planned that all ministers would be camping in Delhi for two days for talks, it was later decided that only those ministers holding crucial portfolios would be accompanying the chief minister.

The state will be presenting some crucial projects, including security clearance for the Vizhinjam terminal project, before the centre. The team will discuss the project with Union home minister P Chidambaram.

During the meeting the ministers will demand more central share in the setting up of the disaster management council. Read the full report here.
