Green GDP Estimate Likely To Be In Place By 2015: Jairam Ramesh

Addressing a meeting on "Building a Green Economy" organized by industry chamber CII, Ramesh spoke about the expert group set up jointly by the Environment Ministry and Planning Commission to develop a Green Gross Domestic Product.

The government has set up an expert group headed by environmental economist Partha Dasgupta to provide a road map for Green National Accounting (GNA) system to evaluate impact of economic growth on environment by 2015. The committee consists of economists Nitin Desai, Vijay Kelkar and Kirit Parikh, Pronob Sen, TCA Anant and Kanchan Chopra. Read the full report here.
