The State Government has a total provision of Rs.485 crore for comlpensatory funds parked with Centre, which includes Rs.132.63 crore towards compensatory afforestation and Rs.349.72 crore towards net present value. He urged the Union Minister that adhoc CAMPA has been released so far by the Central Government in two instalments for Gujarat amounting to Rs.24.96 crore and Rs.29.16 crore, totaling Rs.54.12 crore, which is utterly inadequate.
Gujarat Minister also requested to release fund for âState Forest Development Agency' and the âGreening India Programme' schemes. During the discussion with the Union Minister, Shri Mangubhai Patel also urged that Central Government should approve Rs.600 crore for constructing ring road around Gir Lion Sanctuary for protection and conservation of the lions. He also urged for establishment of a National level Bio-diversity Institute in Jamnagar or Kutch and invited Union Minister Shri Jairam Ramesh to visit Gujarat, which he agreed to do so.
