High Court Seeks Report On Elephant Corridor

The division bench comprising Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice Ashok B Hinchigeri, on July 26, while hearing a PIL had given four weeks time to the state government to submit a report on its action plan to develop elephant corridor.

Counsel N Ravindranath Kamath had filed the PIL stating the reason for the entry of elephants into human habitats was lack of food in the forest areas.

The state government had then submitted that it was preparing an action plan to set up an elephant corridor in the state.

When the matter came up for hearing on Monday, the government submitted that it wanted more time to submit the report. Read the full report here.
