The project had been approved by the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF). The irrigation project was planned across the Human river, a tributary of the Andhari river that empties into the Wainganga. Implementation of the project would have submerged over 1,535 ha. of forest land, including a tiger corridor between TATR and the Bhramapuri Divsional Forest that connects other PAs in the Satpuda-Maikal landscape.
