India Can Pledge Binding Emission Cuts, Says Jairam Ramesh

Environment minister Jairam Ramesh told the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change conference in Cancun, that all countries should take binding commitments in an appropriate legal form.

 

Ramesh, however, was only articulating the UPA government's line, which last week decided to break away from India's stand against developed countries' attempt to foist legally binding cuts on developing countries. Read the full report here.
