Jairam Ramesh Appalled At The State Of Pune's Rivers

Ramesh put forth this suggestion after a discussion with Addl Municipal Commissioner Umakant Dangat and Mayor Mohan Singh Rajpal when he was at PMC's Environment and Citizenship Education Centre, Indradhaushya, to inaugurate it on Saturday, after the Green India Mission public consultation.

 

The degradation of the river really struck me on this trip to Pune though I have been here before. It was better earlier, but now its a running gutter. I will be speaking to the Mayor regarding this," said Ramesh  at the public consultation as the heavy pollution of Pune's rivers was an issue raised repeatedly by citizens.
