Jairam Ramesh Should Resign: YSR Congress Party

He was addressing the maiden press conference of the party here, when he ridiculed the statement of Jairam Ramesh ''to stop the works of the Polavaram Project until Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Odissa meet and discuss on the objections on displacement and other matters.

 

He said that though representing Andhra Pradesh, Mr Ramesh is undermining the irrigation interests of the state. He demanded that Mr Ramesh should resign and get re-elected from some other place.

 

He said that late YSR with an intention to utilise every drop of water in the state for cultivating lakhs of acres of land in Andhra Pradesh started ‘Jalayagnam' along with several irrigation projects.

 

He reminded that Congress President Sonia Gandhi announced that ‘Polavaram' will be given National project level when she visited AP. He said that the YSR government has strongly refuted the objections of the other states in CWC. Read the full report here.
