Jairam Ramesh To Arrive In China On Friday

Ramesh, who is visiting China second time in a month,will hold discussions with his Chinese counterpart Zhou Shen Gxian and discuss ways to broaden their cooperation on climate change negotiations. India and China have been cooperating closely on climate change negotiations and played a major role in clinching the 'Copenhagen Accord', along with Brazil and South Africa, at the December 2009 Climate Change Summit.

 

Ramesh will also meet top officials of State Council, China's apex governing body, and hold talks with Vice Chairman of the National Development Reforms Commission Xie Zhen Hua. NDRC is the organisation that formulates and implements plans for economic and social development. Ramesh headed India's first Ministerial delegation at the Chinese sponsored Boao Forum for Asia last month, which is the Sino-Indian cooperation in climate change negotiations.
