MAIL TODAY had reported that chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda's office, a state minister and eight bureaucrats were indicted by a high- level committee, headed by I. G. forest ( wildlife) A. K. Srivastava, for victimising IFS officer Sanjiv Chaturvedi who had exposed a series of environment and forest-related scams in the state.
Ramesh's ministry, ironically, has asked Haryana chief secretary to inquire into "irregularities, if any.." in implementation of central schemes and forest and wildlife laws, virtually ignoring a CBI probe recommended by the committee constituted by Union cabinet secretary.
The committee had submitted its report in December 2010.
The 2002 batch IFS officer was harassed, suspended, slapped with frivolous cases, transferred a dozen times and chargesheeted since he blew the whistle on the scams in 2007. Read the full report here.
