TN CM in a letter to PM said that Center should stop all work on the project and should allay the fears of the locals. An all party delegation led by Minister O Panerselvam would visit the PM and give their views on the plant and the fears raised by the locals. She wanted the agitators to give up the fast and sign the memorandum as well join the delegation.
TN CM said that Jayanthi Natarajan who holds the environment portfolio dismissed the issue as not under her ministry and that officials would look into it as if it was trivial matter. A person hailing from Tamil Nadu should understand the feelings of the fasting agitators and deal with seriousness it deserved.
