It also served as an opportunity for the general public to see the work done by Kids for Tigers students to protect the tiger and spread awareness about environmental conservation.
The fest began with Kids for Tigers Bengaluru coordinator Usha Ramaiah welcoming chief guest Vijay Mohan Raj, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests, Belgaum Forest Department, and guest of honour Mudita Lall, Executive, Corporate Social Responsibility, Aircel.
In his address to the students, Vijay Mohan Raj expressed hope for the tiger's future and stated the importance of leaving tigers alone and providing enough space from them to ensure the survival of a healthy population in the future. He appreciated the efforts of the students for spreading awareness about the importance of preserving our natural world.
After the inauguration ceremony, the fest activities began in full swing. A total of 656 students participated in activities such as a Save Our Tigers skit, singing, face painting, mask making, make your musical instrument and set up stalls all revolving around the theme of echoing the tiger's call ‘Leave Me Alone'. The judges were particularly impressed by the stalls put by students, who used posters to present information on the various tiger reserves in India. Students and judges enthusiastically participated in nature games at the many stalls.
