To commemorate Global Tiger Day, Kids for Tigers, the Sanctuary Tiger Programme supported by Aircel, organised film screenings at Modern School, Barakhamba Road, Delhi. The event was a part of the ongoing Leave Me Alone campaign and saw over 600 students and teachers from 23 schools in Delhi participating. Two documentaries - the Wild Meat Trail and Shores of Silence - were screened. The Wild Meat Trail is a film by Rita Banderji and Shilpi Sharma focussing on traditional hunting practices in the Northeast and Shores of Silence is a hard hitting film on whale sharks by Mike Pandey. The films helped the kids understand two vital conservation issues and were followed by a talk by Rita Banerji. After a short break, the kids watched Earthsavers - a short clip on on-ground tiger defenders and attended a talk by Brinda Malhotra, Head, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Aircel. The Mouse that Saved the Tiger was also screened and Benny B. Barkataki, CSR, Aircel answered the children's questions on conservation.
