Moser Baer's 400 MW Seli hydroelectric power project on the Chenab river in the high-altitude, ecologically and geologically sensitive Lahaul-Spiti area in Himachal Pradesh will result in the felling of almost 57,000 trees. This does not include the projected 10,000-15,000 trees that are likely to be submerged after the project is completed.
