The Forest Minister will take up the position of Deputyy Chairman and the Chief Wildlife Warden of the state will be the member secretary. Apart from two members of the state legislature, the board will have three persons to represent non-governmental organisations dealing with wildlife. The Government has nominated Satpuda Foundation, Bombay Natural History Society and Sahyadri Nisarga Mitra of Chiplun among the NGOs.
Among the ten persons nominated by the state Government are Mr.Dilip Yardi,Aurangabad,V.B.Sawarkar, Devaji Topha,Gadchiroli (S.T), Dr.Erauch Bharucha,Pune, Dr.Prakash Amte,Gadchiroli, Prakash Dubey,Mumbai,Gopal Bodhe, Mumbai, R.N.Indurkar,Nagpur, Prof. Suresh Gaikwad (Sangali) and Hiraman Warkhede,Gadchiroli (ST).
The notification was issued on February 23, 2010 and the present board will function for the next three years.
