Man causes problems, leopards are condemned

Conservationists such as Kishor Rithe of the Satpuda Foundation oppose such ‘death warrants' which could actually serve to aggravate the problem. They suggest that long-lasting solutions that deal with the root of the issue be worked on. Earlier this year, a tiger was killed by the forest department in response to political pressure and local agitation around the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve. But, as many conservationists had warned, the wrong animal was shot.
