Even as the state government contemplates dismissal of the young forest service officer, the Centre has made yet another U-turn and decided to only ask Haryana to comment on his claims instead of prosecuting the guilty and exonerating Chaturvedi.
Earlier, responding to TOI reports, the Union environment minister had ordered immediate revocation of the chargesheet against the officer who had blown the lid off a multi-crore forestry scam in Haryana. After five years of persecution by the state government Chaturvedi had pleaded with the President and the cabinet secretary to rescue him. The President's office had sent his missive to the environment ministry as the ministry in charge of the forestry service and the cabinet secretary too had asked the ministry to take action on his complaint.
