MoEFCC Reinstates Power To State Wildlife Boards

The August 20 notice stated that only the Standing Committee of the NBWL would be authorised to provide EC and any further suggestions would be provided by the Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC). If required, the EAC may also invite chief wildlife wardens of the state to provide any views or concerns surrounding the proposal. These suggestions would then be forwarded to the Impact Assessment (IA) division by the MoEFCC's wildlife division for further evaluation.
Revoking the August 20 notice now implies that any further applications for permission surrounding the road widening of the National Highway 7 (NH7) between Mansar and Khawasa on the Madhya Pradesh border would require consent from the SWB of MP as well as the NBWL.
