This wildlife film festival is one of these efforts. Forests maintain nature's balance. Damaging forests of trivial gains will result in far-reaching destructive consequences. Rare species of wild animals have also become endangered due to exploitation and cutting of forests. It has also cast negative effects on the global climate. That is why the concepts like carbon trading are coming into existence.
The Forest Minister said that not only natural imbalance can be prevented through forest conservation, but employment can also be provided to lakhs of people. Plants and factories not only lead to pollution whereas forests cleanse the atmosphere by absorbing carbon dioxide.
Lauding the efforts being made for saving tigers by Crusade for Revival of Environment & Wildlife (CREW), Mr Singh said that these efforts will create awareness about conservation of wildlife and forests among people.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Mr Ramesh K. Dave described the film festival as a good beginning. He said this will not only educate people on conservation of tigers, other wildlife, forests etc, but will also benefit the generations to come.
