The presentation to describe the mammoth Rs32,000 crore coastal road plan has the details of a Versova-Bandra sea link which has been planned by the MSRDC. As per the details, the corporation has come out with four options of constructing the Bandra-Versova sea link.
The first, constructing a coastal road where the reclamation will be close to 1.8km. There will be a portion of coastal road on stilt of 5.2 km length and a cut and cover tunnel of 3.1km at Juhu beach. The cost is derived at Rs3178 crore. The second option talks of a 7.047km coastal road on stilt and then cut and cover tunnel at Juhu beach. This option's cost is Rs3527 crore.
However, the corporation has another option of coastal bridge from Bandra to Versova through Khardanda of 6.8km and a cut and cover tunnel of 3.1km at Juhu. This option will cost Rs3531 crore. The last option is to construct a direct sea link of 9.8km from Versova to Bandra similar to the existing Bandra-Worli sea link. The cost for this option is Rs3809 crore. Read the full report here.
