Speaking to reporters during his visit to the residence of writer-activist Patil Puttappa along with his wife Nagaratna, he said the railways, in its revised proposal, had already made it clear that there will be minimum deforestation and more tunnels will be dug while laying the tracks between Hubli and Ankola. "I will apprise him the same again during the next week's meet," he said.
Muniyappa said he will also try to get clearance for Talguppa-Honnavara and Bangalore-Satyamangalam railway lines. To a query, Muniyappa said the proposal to name any one of the train passing through Hubli after Sri Siddaroodhaswami is before the Railway Board for consideration. Read the full report here.
