Navi Mumbai Airport Clearance In Last Lap

The environment ministry had raised several issues at the meeting between environment minister Jairam Ramesh, civil aviation minister Praful Patel and other officials held last week. These include possibility of further reducing the distance between runways. Earlier, following observations by the expert committee and the need to prevent diversion of the Gadhi river, Cidco had reworked the design to reduce the distance between the two runways from 1,800 to 1,500 metres.
