The state government's hopes were further dashed since the ministry of environment and forests (MoEF) found documentary evidence submitted by Chaturvedi against top politicians and bureaucrats "robust". The ministry is seeking central vigilance commission's advice on the modalities for further probe.
In a letter to state environment minister Ajay Singh Yadav on June 20, Ramesh said, "The matter has been examined by us in detail. We find no justification for reviewing our earlier order dated January 19 when the chargesheet against Chaturvedi was revoked."
Yadav said he had not received the letter of the Union minister. "I can give my comments only after I get it," he added. Read the full report here.
