NTPC Yet To Source Coal But Projects Get Green Nod

This runs counter to the ministry's recent directive requiring coal dependent projects to secure environmental and forest clearances for the linked coal block or mine before applying for clearances for the project.

The three projects at Nabinagar in Bihar, and Sholapur and Mouda in Maharashtra use super-critical technology, which leads to lower carbon emission. Coal linkages for these projects are yet to be receive clearance. As per the November 1 order of the ministry, the clearances for the projects should have been held in abeyance.
