The study focuses on development of a methodology for monitoring wild Asian Elephants using individual identifications for photographic capture recapture analyses. This study formed part of Varun Goswami's ongoing research supported by WCS, CWS and USFWS and has applicability for surveys of Asian elephants. This study was originally conducted in Nagarahole-Bandipur as a part of Varun's masters thesis work for the CWS-WCS-NCBS graduate program. We hope you will find this paper to be of interest.
