The likely impact of the proposal for development of Dr YSR Vanam in an area of 1424.14 ha in Velugodu reserve forest had already been highlighted by local environmentalists. The project includes construction of approach roads, infrastructure facilities, vehicular traffic and a large number of visitors. The site is in critical tiger habitat and bound to disturb wildlife.
