PM’s Climate Change Panel

Headed by the Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forests, it will include representatives from the ministries of finance, power, renewable energy, urban development, water resources, coal, petroleum and natural gas, and the Planning Commission, as well as departments like science and technology, agriculture and co-operation, agricultural research and education, earth sciences and economic affairs. This, according to the PMO, will help facilitate better co-ordination between ministries and effective responses to climate change issues. They will also be in charge of monitoring the implementation of the eight national missions that formed the core of the National Action Plan for Climate Change. Where are the independent voices on this panel? Good question!
