Poaching clouded leopards in India

On February 25, 2008, five clouded leopard skins were seized by the West Bengal Forest Department at Jaigaon, on the India-Bhutan border. The haul, comprising skins of two adults, one sub-adult and two cubs was in the possession of a Jaigaon resident travelling to Siliguri by bus. He then planned to go across the border to Nepal. The accused, who is now in custody, is one of the most wanted wildlife traders in the region.
