Posco Issue: Orissa Didn't Tell The Truth To Jairam

TOI has got documents which show that the two villages had followed the rules and regulations of the Orissa government and called 'palli sabhas' that passed resolutions demanding their rights over the forest land the state wants to hand over for the project.

Under the Forest Rights Act and orders of the environment ministry, forest lands cannot be used for projects unless the traditional rights of the people and communities are settled and the village councils give the permission for the use of lands. Read the full report here.
