Reliance Power Coal Blocked!

Reliance Power owned Sasan ultra mega power project in Madhya Pradesh has been relying on the Chhatrasal coal block nearby to ensure a continuous supply of coal. But the coal block was put under the ‘No-Go' areas list by the Environment Ministry sometime back.

Now, the company had written to the Coal Ministry requesting to change the status of the block. But Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh has clarified today that the status of the coal block remains as of now. The minister has also cleared the air on the proposed ultra mega power projects in Chhattisgarh and Orissa. Read the full report here.
