Photo: Angad Bhingarde.Kishor Rithe, former member of the standing committee of the National Board for Wildlife (NBWL), designed the course. Rithe said, “Complex problems like poaching, wildlife trade and human-wildlife conflict will be discussed during this course, and we will teach the effective use of media tools as well." Rithe said that the course will be conducted at three locations: Amravati University, Melghat Tiger Reserve, and Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve.
Dr. Jaikiran Tidke, vice-chancellor of Amravati University, will preside over the inauguration of the course, with Melghat Field Director D.K. Tyagi and EECG president Edward McCrea serving as guests of honor. Participants will include four delegates from Bangladesh and Nepal, and ten from Punjab, Assam, and Maharashtra. Some of the delegates will be forest officers. Kishor Rithe, Nishikant Kale, and Ganesh Vankhede will serve as instructors, and will be joined by Edward McCrea and Deborah Simmons from the United States. Guest speakers will include Praveen Pardeshi, Principal Secretary, Forests, and senior forest officers.
