Shoddy Planning Spikes Coastal Road

Ever since Chavan became Maharashtra CM, Ramesh has always shown special interest in key projects in the state, clearing proposals like the Navi Mumbai airport, Jaitapur power project and redevelopment of slums in the CRZ area. When the MSRDC was drafting the coastal road proposal, it gave the impression a green signal was a mere formality. However, now it appears the project may not see the light of the day, because when the MSRDC drafted the proposal, it failed to take serious note of the amended CRZ rules and did not carefully study the cost of the project.
