Responding to the environment minister's comment, Thomas Kuehl, director sales and marketing, said âHe is right in asking us to be environment friendly. Yeti gives a great fuel efficiency of 17.67 kmpl, and that is our answer." He claims that Yeti is the best in fuel efficiency among all the SUVs in India and even better than some premium sedans.
The competitive price range pitches it slightly under other models in the segment like Honda CRV, Toyota Fortuner, Chevrolet Captiva, the recently launched Hyundai Santa Fe and Mitsubishi Outlander. Skoda said that Yeti will create a new SUV segment in the country.
Launched globally in 2009, Yeti is powered by a 2-litre TDI CR engine and will be available in five colours.
Skoda expects to sell nearly 400-500 units in a month. Kuehl said that Skoda has already received 1,000 bookings, interestingly even before the price was announced. Read the full report here.
