Most debates about the state of the world are serious. Our polar ice caps are melting, we are running out of oil, storms hit cities when you least expect it, our children may not get to see some animals we grew up with, Al Gore may never smile again. Former environment minister, Jairam Ramesh may never cut his hair because he's upset about  the new Mumbai satellite city of Lavassa. These are all sad things.

But what about good things? What about the plastic garbage and the electronic waste that fills the world without which there would be large open spaces we would not know what to do with? What about the massive SUVs without which you'd be nothing in Ludhiana? What about draining the oceans so we can see the whales properly instead of going on some stupid boat to look for them?
These and many other areas that serious people find too taboo to touch, will be touched. And dealt with inappropriately. Starting with the main question, what is the environment, why do we even need it? Join us from 3.30 to 4.30 p.m. on January 20, 2013, at SunPlugged!
