Steel Plant Proposal Turned Down By The Karnataka State Wildlife Board

The proposal was earlier rejected on the grounds that the plant would be in close proximity to the sanctuary, which is the only sloth bear sanctuary in Asia.

According to The Hindu, the Forest Minister also stated that a ‘wildlife hardship allowance' has been approved by the board for forest guards.
