The workshop is primarily designed for Forest Staff and field researchers who wish to learn techniques to get better, more usable images from specific locations. Steve Winter will present some of his finest camera trap works and will share techniques involving natural history, photography and lighting. He will also discuss issues of ethics, and offer fresh perspectives that might help improve the impact of images captured by camera traps and other remote photography methods.
The in-room communications will extend over roughly three hours per day and the rest of the time will be spent on location, setting traps, exploring the best areas to place cameras, how to get the best angles and how to create the best lighting effects. He will also help to analyse images captured in camera traps set on December 18-19, 2013 and then on the morning of December 20, 2013, we will analyse the images and discuss what went right/wrong and how ethics, patience and technique must be married for the best results.
We are charging no fees for this workshop. However, participants will have to bear their accommodation, food and travel costs.
Accommodation for participants has been arranged at the Forest Department guest house (Rs 800 per day for one room - twin occupancy). Simple vegetarian food will be available on both days (Rs 500 for three meals per person per day). Participants will have to reach the location at their own cost. After reaching Nagpur, we will assist you to reach the location.
